How to view GEO file?

It often happens that you only need to preview the contents of the GEO file, without the need to edit or process the data contained in it. In this case, it is enough that you use the so-called GEO Viewer. This type of tool is nothing more than a program or an online application that allows you to easily view the content of the data stored in the GEO file. To view the content of the GEO file you can use several options:

Software supporting GEO files

Our GEO Viewer did not live up to what I expected? Choose something else One of them is to use software that works with the GEO file. You can try to open your GEO file with one of these applications. By choosing the option to install dedicated software, you will also be able to e.g. edit the GEO file and sometimes even convert the GEO file.

Advantages and disadvantages of this solution

The first important thing is that you will need to download and install a dedicated application that supports the GEO format on your device. In this case, it is not possible to view the GEO file online. This method is more complicated, but it offers more possibilities for working with the GEO file. Below you will find a list of example applications that are dedicated to working with the GEO file - for the full list go to GEO File Opener

Other options

If you still cannot see the contents of the GEO file, but also don't see the need to install dedicated software, then there are other solutions. A large proportion of the data formats are simply archives or plain text files. In this case, you can try to open your GEO file with the simplest text editor, for example with "Notepad". This does not guarantee success, but in most cases it will allow you to see the contents of the GEO file to some extent.

As in the case of Notepad, you can also use the data archiving program. Open Winrar or Winzip and try to unpack your file. If the file is a data archive, you should see what individual files it consists of. To get information about what kind of data it is, go to the subpage with information about the GEO file extension.
